Through support from individuals and private foundations, KAC has worked for nearly 40 years to make our state the best place to live, work and raise a family.

Zero to Thrive 

Zero To Thrive is a non-partisan statewide advocacy coalition for all Kansans who believe that every community should have access to the support and investments needed for children, families, and local economies to thrive. Kansas rural communities in particular do not have enough child care to meet the current demand.

The Administration for Children & Families (ACF), a division of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, youth, individuals and communities with funding, strategic partnerships, guidance, training and technical assistance.

Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) works with a national network of more than 400 child care resource and referral (CCR&Rs) agencies and other partners to ensure that all families have access to quality, affordable child care. CCAoA leads projects that increase the quality and availability of child care, conducts research, and advocates for child care policies that positively impact the lives of children and families. CCAoA also provides child care assistance for military families through Fee Assistance and Respite Child Care Programs that have served more than 150,000 families and worked with more than 60,000 child care providers over nearly two decades.

CPSC works to save lives and keep families safe by reducing the unreasonable risk of injuries and deaths associated with consumer products and fulfilling its vision to be the recognized global leader in consumer product safety. CPSC does this by:

  • Issuing and enforcing mandatory standards or banning consumer products if no feasible standard would adequately protect the public;

  • Obtaining the recall of products and arranging for a repair, replacement or refund for recalled products;

  • Researching potential product hazards; 

  • Developing voluntary standards with standards organizations, manufacturers and businesses;

  • Informing and educating consumers directly and through traditional, online, and social media and by working with foreign, state and local governments and private organizations; and

  • Educating manufacturers worldwide about our regulations, supply chain integrity and development of safe products.
